Hello City!

I just went through all my old blogs- Spain, Ecuador- and started to get sad that I'm not traveling anymore. I'm working- a lot. I'm going back to school in May. I'm paying bills, food shopping, doing my laundry, cooking, cleaning, balancing a social life and getting ready for work the next morning. Even if I had the money to travel, I don't even have a weekend off that I could get away!
It's so easy to forget that I live in a city. I would wander around Madrid and blog about it because it's was all so foreign and exciting. Sometimes when I walk down the streets in Boston, I'll close my eyes and pretend I'm in Madrid. That early morning hustle, the gas fumes of the buses, the early morning bakery. Sure, the morning starts here a few hours earlier and there are no Movifone signs on the sides of the buses; you're walking by Dunkin' Donuts instead of a churro shop and that shot of liquor isn't an option for your morning cup o' joe. But it's still a city. And when I think of a city, I think of the first city I ever lived in- Madrid.
So I may have just a normal life with all the normal stuff in it, but I definitely still do fun and exciting things. And now that this miserable winter is finally over and the sun is coming out again, I'm sure I'll only be doing more and more!
So welcome to my newest blog, Meg In Boston ...sounds so much less exotic, no? Oh well, it's my little city!
